Calling all LOTR fans: I’m looking for some more good canon-compliant fics of baby/young Frodo. AO3 sadly doesn’t seem to have very many. My current favorite is linked below - a beautifully written fic depicting the day of Frodo’s birth. Great characterization of his parents and relatives.

But I’m eager to read more, especially those depicting Frodo with his parents; I love reading different ideas of what Primula and Drogo must have been like.

I’d love any suggestions y’all might have! :)

Share "Bilbo 'I don't know how to take care of children' Baggins"!

Okay so this idea was based of a Tumblr post, specifically this post.

Basically, it's a young Bilbo who agreed to be the godparent of Frodo thinking hed only see the boy every so often and get to spoil him rotten as he grows up. Bilbs never imagined that he'd actually have to take care of a young faunt (not sure if I want Thorin in the picture or not, and if he is there how did he get there? Still deciding which is one of the reasons this is in the WIPs folder.)

Anyways, I just like the idea of Bilbs struggling as/ growing to be a new parent with young Frodo.

So I wrote a thing - fluffy baby Frodo with dork dad extraordinaire Thorin, while Bilbo looks on sighing at how ridiculous his husband is. ;)  If that sounds appealing to you, please enjoy ‘A New Song,’ the follow-up to ‘Moon Song’ that I had no intention of writing, but it happened anyway. ;)

summary- A year had passed since the battle of five army, Erebor was running almost too its former glory and all the repairs were done. However there king wasn’t feeling happy like he thought he would and it was all due to one reason. After Bilbo saved him and his nephews he was hit by a stray arrow and fell from the cliff or at least that was what Dain told him. He cried for days knowing his one was the only one who didn’t make it thought the battle. He had already made plans to visit the hobbit’s family to beg them for forgiveness along with giving them Bilbo’s share of the treasure, or at least part of it the rest will be brought over at a later date. Once his sister come to the mountain he was planning to leave knowing the kingdom was in good hands.

I'm team 'Bilbo is an awkward duckling around babies and small children'.

I mean he's one of the only hobbits without siblings and was considered odd in the Shire. I'm not saying he doesn't like children he just doesn't know what to do with one. 

He doesn't know how to hold a baby (especially when it cries, then it's back to momma) or talk to small children. 

P.S that's baby Frodo he's holding.

For Kiliel Week: the Monday theme is Baby Animals! (I can't draw animals...)

Years after BOTFA, Kili and Tauriel visit Bilbo at the Shire. Baby Frodo falls in love with Tauriel and follows her everywhere so they end up babysitting Frodo most of the time. Kili is reading a story to Frodo when he falls asleep on Tauriel's lap.
